That is me with my best friend in the world. The Great Prince Pupup. My whole life I have never been a "little dog" fan. It was the big ones I loved. The Rots and The German Shepards, those were dogs a man would be proud to be walking. Dogs that would give people the impression that I was "bad" or "tough" and I would command respect walking such a large beast.
Well, my taste in dogs, as well as many other things has changed, and change is what brings me to this point in my life. A point were my career as a Store Manager of a well known coffee company has ended, and a new journey into sales has begun.
My friends and family have always told me, "Pat, you should really go into sales." or " you are so personable, you should be in sales.". So here I am, two days away from starting what I hope to be my crowning achievement.
There is so much information out there regarding sales and the right way to go about it, but for me I feel i must do what comes natural to me, or it will seem fake and rehearsed. I know my service, I'm proud of the people I work for, and the work we do, and I know a lot of people so I plan to use that to make some connections. I'm a natural net worker, and it seems that in sales, it's the people you know and the relationships you build that get you to the top.
I have researched a few prospects, I have discovered their needs, and some of the problems they have faced and hope to use that to get in the door, along with my charm. I hear a lot about personal branding and honestly, that is what I'm doing here. Is this the right way to go about it? I don't know, but I have some wiggle room in the beginning so I am trying something a little differently....honesty!
This is who I am, my logo would be a picture of my family and I. I have a gorgeous wife, and three beautiful little girls (13,8,1.5) and my buddy Prince Pupup are my life. I have another passion, and I speak of that on my other blog The Zen Citizen. Feel free to venture in, or check out my social network of volunteers on www.citizenzen.ning.com . This is something I feel very strongly about, so give it a look.
I teach First aid and CPR, and help out a buddy of mine, Curt Newport of Newport Enterprises. I planned to start a emergency preparedness consulting firm, but it seems most people don't think of being prepared until they are wishing they were, so that is at a stand still.
I have worked as a paperboy, shipped mail order spices, bussed and waited tables, bartended, worked every aspect of a print shop, barista, taught classes in food safety, CPR and First aid, and managed a coffee shop. I owned my own cleaning service, delivered flowers as a freelance flower guy, and worked as an electrician laborer during the coldest winter of my life. I have lived in 9 states and 1 island. I've been married twice, 2nd times a charm, and we did it the right way, in Vegas. I have seen some very bad things and I have witnessed perfect beauty. I am experience.
I have a mission statement for me, my volunteer group, and my family and we stick to it, for it is our roadmap in life. I am working to get my kids to stick with this type of planning and I believe that everyone should focus at least 30 minutes to an hour a day on their own personal development, because if your not trying to be better then you were yesterday, then your regressing, and that will get you no where.
I have a lot more to say and do, more stories to tell and experience to share but for now, this is me, and this will be my story.....
